Sardine Beach was created by Pascal Chevillot and Pika partners in life and work.
Pascal is a fourth generation chef and restaurateur from Burgundy. Pika, originally from Slovenia, is an artist and interior designer. They met many years ago in St. Martin in the Caribbean and quickly fell in love, drawn together by a shared passion for creativity, food, and island life.
Their journey took them to Los Angeles, where Pascal worked as a private chef for high-profile clients, while Pika built a successful career as an interior designer, all the while continuing to paint and exhibit her work.
After years of city living, a holiday in Bali reignited their love for the tropics. From this moment, Sardine Restaurant in Bali was born a reflection of their philosophy of simple, honest cuisine and warm hospitality.
The search for the perfect beachfront escape eventually led them to Rote Island. After years of exploring many islands, a visit to friends on Rote made the decision effortless they had found what they were looking for.
Charming, attentive, and quietly meticulous, Pascal and Pika take great care in hosting their guests. At Sardine Beach, no request is too small or too large, and hospitality is delivered with ease, discretion, and genuine warmth.
